TV setup in minutes

About ShopSmoke Studio

Create once. Use everywhere. Capture your products, prepare branded content and organize photos for each store.

From camera to creative: take a photo on your phone, edit it, then keep it ready for the next flyer, TV screen or website update. Photos and drafts stay on the device you made them on; published TV slides are stored on your server.

1 · Owner: install once

  1. Upload the flat release ZIP contents into public_html/ (not another folder), over HTTPS at https://www.shopsmoke.online/.
  2. Visit /setup/install.php, enter your existing MySQL database name, database username, database password, and a new private owner password.
  3. Open Store & TV Manager, sign in, and run Deployment Check. Fix any failed security checks before publishing.

2 · Give every TV its own URL

  1. Choose the right store, then click + Add TV. Name the TV “Front Counter” or “Window Display”.
  2. Copy its permanent URL, for example https://www.shopsmoke.online/galaxy-goulds-tv-1/.
  3. Open that URL in the TV browser, mini-PC or streaming device. Tap or press OK once for fullscreen when supported, or use that device’s kiosk/fullscreen setting.
  4. Leave the TV on its address. It checks for menu updates every second; no need to edit the URL each time.

3 · Publish from a phone

  1. Open Quick Publish on an iPhone, Android or desktop browser and sign in.
  2. Select a store and TV, type HELLO, and watch the 16:9 preview update.
  3. Tap Review destination, verify the TV URL, then choose Confirm & Publish.
  4. The TV should load the new menu on its next check when online. The publisher confirms playback only when the TV reports the new revision.
  5. For a future release, choose Publish later and a local date/time. For exact-time activations even when all TVs are offline, configure the optional server cron job described in DEPLOY.md.

Use existing Creator media

Upload a product photo in Creator, edit the text and save a draft, then tap 📺 Send to TV. The image or design is passed from this device’s private gallery to Quick Publish and uploaded only after confirmation. Photos and drafts do not yet synchronize between devices.

Safety: Only the logged-in owner can publish or schedule. Published content is publicly viewable to anyone with the TV URL. Don't use sample prices for customers, and review local rules for age-restricted retail advertising. Save secure backups of MySQL and the private image folder.

Team, drafts and photo sync

  1. Team logins: in TV Manager → Team accounts the owner adds people. Managers publish to their stores; staff save drafts and photos only. Everyone signs in with Username + Password (the owner leaves Username blank).
  2. Drafts on any device: in the Editor use File → Save as Draft (or the button in Preview). Open them anywhere with File → Open draft… or from Saved Drafts → Team drafts.
  3. Photos on every phone: Media Library → ☁ Sync uploads this phone’s photos and downloads your team’s photos for the selected store.
  4. Editable TV menus: menus published from the Editor keep an editable copy, so TV Manager → ✎ Edit reopens the real text and layers.

TVs that stay on

Open the TV link and press OK once for full screen. For TVs that run all day, a kiosk browser app (for example Fully Kiosk Browser on Android TV / Fire TV) can open the link automatically at power-on, stay full screen and keep the screen awake.
